Julia J.W. Ovando is a Northern Virginia native and a member of the Virginia Bar. She received her Juris Doctorate from The George Mason School of Law, and her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from the College of William and Mary. She is fluent in Spanish, having studied at the Universidad de Granada in Spain.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ovando worked as the Assistant General Counsel in a growing foreclosure avoidance firm, interned at the Board of Immigration Appeals, the Office of the Chief Immigration Judge, and the Fairfax Circuit Court. She has also clerked for an international adoption agency, immigration firm, family law firm, and a real estate/civil litigation practice. Her background is diverse, as is her pre-law experience as a high school Spanish teacher and Northern Virginia real estate agent.
Currently, her practice areas include civil litigation, real estate and foreclosures, landlord-tenant disputes, family and adoptions, immigration, contracts and corporate law.
Ms. Ovando carefully guides her clients in pursuing their best legal options for the case and issues at hand. She is a proponent of meditation when it better serves her clients’ interests than litigation.
